Hello, The Digital World. I am

Solomon
Tsehay

I'm a 4th-year Software Engineering student from Addis Ababa. I don't just build apps — I find real problems, think hard about them, and engineer solutions that actually matter. Five projects live. Many lessons learned. The journey continues.

Who I Am

01

I'm not the smartest person in the room, and I've made peace with that. What I am is determined. Engineering isn't about knowing everything — it's about not stopping until the problem is solved. Every project started with: does this actually need to exist? Will it actually help someone?

02

From eco-tourism platforms for Ethiopia's sacred forests to live queue systems for barbershops in Addis — my projects are not demos. They're attempts at real value. Some worked better than others. All of them taught me something.

03

Right now I'm learning DevOps and DevSecOps — because great engineering isn't just the code you write, but the systems around it. Security. Reliability. Infrastructure that doesn't fail people.

04

I work hard. I work smart. And I've learned that struggle is not a sign of failure — it's a sign you're doing something that matters.

The Journey

🎓2021· Year 1

Started Software Engineering

Enrolled in BSc Software Engineering. First line of code. First bug. First obsession.

🚀2022· Year 2

First Project Shipped

Stopped building tutorials and started building real things. First product with a real audience. Learned more in two weeks than a semester.

📦2023–24· Year 3–4

5 Real-World Projects Deployed

Forest·TrailsHinsete SebNexus MovieAtsede NisehaDove Barber

Each solved a real problem for a real audience. None of them perfect. All of them real.

⚙️2024–25· Year 4–5

Pivoting Toward DevOps / DevSecOps

Great engineering isn't just the code you write — it's the systems around it. Started learning Docker, CI/CD, Linux, cloud fundamentals, and security principles.

Now· Year 4current

4th Year — Building, Learning, Growing

Currently in my 4th year. Sharpening engineering thinking, bridging software with infrastructure and security. The work is not done.

🎯Next· future

Systems Engineer Who Solves Serious Problems

The goal is not a title. Build infrastructure that doesn't fail people. Security. Reliability. Systems that matter.
